jogging my memory

Flipping through my notebook, I found the word "Schistosomiasis" scrawled on a blank page. What was this word, so hastily scribbled opposite "The Chastity Belt of Venezia"? Why was it standing there, lonely and afraid, without a definition or context?

And then with one Google search, I remembered.

Thank you, Simon, for ruining my breakfast not once, but twice.

Aaaaahahahahahaha. Check for Monday.

Really though, why did you have that written in your notebook? And why was it next to the Chastity Belt of Venezia? Please tell me the long-ago wearer of the chastity belt did not also have schistosomiasis. That would be too, too awful.

I accidently skipped those pages while I was writing-- and there's nothing worse than a blank page... except maybe a blank page with schistosomiasis written on it.

Angela is responsible for the charming chastity belt sketch. We saw it in a museum and wanted to remember it... mainly because it looked nothing like the one in "robin hood: men in tights".

Are you saying that Robin Hood: Men in Tights isn't historically accurate?

i like that the chastity belt holes look like an exclamation point.

@Maeve: I had the same thought!

@Ivan: After looking it up, I agree with the "eww" feeling. Simon is gross. But one can never say S&I isn't educational! ;)

I beg your pardon. I myself am not gross. Schistosomiasis is gross. Let's keep that straight.

::patiently awaits a post that is slightly less gross than schistosomiasis and chastity belts of Venice::
